EU Shipping Regulations
At ELEGANSIFY, we are committed to full transparency regarding how we handle cross-border shipments, including compliance with applicable European Union (EU) trade and customs regulations. This page outlines what you need to know when ordering from us if you are based in or shipping to an EU country.
Important Notice
Please note that ELEGANSIFY currently ships to the United Kingdom, United States, and Canada. We do not currently offer direct shipping to EU member states. However, we understand that many of our customers may have questions about EU regulations, particularly given the UK's post-Brexit trade relationship with the European Union. This page provides relevant information for your reference.
Post-Brexit & UK–EU Trade
Since the United Kingdom's departure from the European Union, the UK is now treated as a third country under EU customs law. This means that any goods moving between the UK and EU member states are subject to:
- Customs declarations — all shipments must be accompanied by the appropriate customs documentation.
- Import duties & VAT — EU buyers may be required to pay import duties and local VAT upon receipt of goods from the UK.
- Customs checks — parcels may be subject to inspection at the EU border.
ELEGANSIFY is based in London, England, and all orders are dispatched from the United Kingdom.
VAT & Import Duties
For customers in EU member states (should we expand shipping in the future), the following rules apply under EU law:
- Orders under €150 — VAT is collected at the point of sale under the EU's Import One-Stop Shop (IOSS) scheme, where applicable. This means no additional VAT should be charged upon delivery.
- Orders over €150 — customs duties and import VAT will be assessed and collected by the carrier or customs authority upon arrival in the destination country.
- The applicable VAT rate depends on the destination EU member state.
Customs Documentation
All international shipments from ELEGANSIFY are accompanied by accurate customs declarations, including:
- A full description of the goods
- The declared value of the shipment
- Country of origin information
- HS (Harmonised System) commodity codes where required
We ensure all documentation complies with UK export regulations and the import requirements of the destination country.
Prohibited & Restricted Items
ELEGANSIFY sells fashion clothing, accessories, and home footwear. These product categories are generally permitted for import across most jurisdictions. However, certain materials (e.g. specific animal-derived materials) may be subject to restrictions in some countries. If you have concerns about a specific product, please contact us before placing your order.
Consumer Rights Under EU Law
While ELEGANSIFY currently serves UK, US, and Canadian customers, we uphold standards consistent with EU consumer protection principles, including:
- Right to clear product information — accurate descriptions, pricing, and material details are provided for all products.
- Right to a returns process — we offer a fair and transparent returns policy in line with consumer rights best practices.
- Right to transparent pricing — all prices are displayed clearly, inclusive of applicable taxes where relevant.
Future EU Shipping
We are actively exploring the possibility of expanding our shipping destinations to include EU member states. When we do, we will ensure full compliance with:
- EU customs and import regulations
- The EU's IOSS VAT scheme for low-value goods
- General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) requirements
- EU consumer rights directives
We will update this page and notify our customers when EU shipping becomes available.
